Georgien Adventure

First of all thank you very much for inviting us to lunch on our last day in Rangoon. We feel that we had a very exciting trip to Burma, but can tell you that after 1 week in different places (Yangon 2 nights, Kalaw 1, Pindaya 1, Inle 2) we were exhausted by so much input from our guides - and cooooold weather at nights and mornings!!

We found the Mandalay Hill Resort a release, and a good thing was that evenings were a bit more warm here so that we could eat outside in the garden and watch the Burmese show. Nice indoor restaurants, bar and spa facilites. The boat trip was really a good choice at this time of the trip because you could relax on the beautiful sundeck (so fit for visiting Bagan with all the temples). The indoor served breakfast as well as dinner was perfect. The bar and its surroundings were very beautiful designed.  - Just a pitty that we missed the first day on board the Paukan 2007 due to water level.
Bagan was fantastic, and we got around by car, horse cart and bicycle. Inle Lake was also a fantastic place to visit, and the Inle Resort was nice, but very very cold in the restaurant in the morning and a bit cold in the evening. The staff at Amara Hotel was so kind.  The choice of our hotels was good, also Kandawgyi Palace was very good, here we could eat outside both mornings and evenings and service was o.k. The room direct to the lake was a good choice.  A thing, which was a bit disappointing, was the driving around Kalaw/Pindaya, because we read about the green landscape with rice and vegetables - and everything was quite brown!! - of course due to the period of the year!!  - but that we did not think about.

We think that it is perfect to have local guides in stead of the same guide on the whole trip, because the guides have, of course, different personalities and their own specialities. - We were very satisfied with our guides.

Burma is indeed worth-while another visit.......
